Diego was funded as a PDRA by the NIHR/MRC and is a member of the HICC-consortium.  Diego was instrumental in shaping the pseudotype assays for SARS-CoV-2 VOCs and integrating these into clinical workflows with the Royal Papworth NHS Trust and the University of Cambridge LVZ.

Now at CVR in Glasgow he maintains close links with VPU.
